Today, Ukraine has a number of government programs to support entrepreneurs. Grants help start a business, expand production, or create new jobs. This is a non-repayable financial assistance that can be obtained subject to the fulfillment of clearly defined requirements.

What grants are available (updated as of 09/30/2025)

1. Microgrants for business
   • Amounts from UAH 50,000 to UAH 250,000, depending on the creation of jobs.
   • Up to UAH 500,000 for entrepreneurs in the field of preschool education.
   • Up to UAH 1,000,000 – if 4 or more jobs are created and the project is co-financed.
   • The money can be spent on equipment, raw materials, rent, marketing, or leasing.
2. Grants for processing enterprises
   • Financing for the purchase of equipment, its delivery and commissioning.
   • They are designed to create new or expand existing production facilities.
   • Co-financing is provided: 50/50 or 80/20 for the de-occupied territories.
   • A prerequisite is the creation of at least 5 jobs.
3. Grants for veterans and their families
   • Up to UAH 250,000 for creating one job.
   • From UAH 250,000 to 500,000 for two jobs.
   • From UAH 500,000 to UAH 1,000,000 – subject to the creation of four jobs and co-financing.
   • The funds can be spent on equipment, rent, marketing, purchasing animals, raw materials, etc.

Stages of work on a grant application

To increase the chances of success, the application is prepared in several steps:

1. Choosing a grant program that suits your business.
2. Checking credit history and business reputation.
3. Preparation of a business plan and necessary documents.
4. Approval of the draft application with the entrepreneur.
5. Submitting an application through the Diia portal or other official resources.
6. Passing an online interview.
7. Receiving a decision and using funds in non-cash form.

Popular myths about getting a grant

• It is impossible to get grants only for your own people.
